REMOVALS

WE’VE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY MOVING ESSEX SINCE 1918

Moving home is an exciting time which is why you want it to be as stress-free and as simple as possible. Thankfully with years of hard-earned experience, we have the procedures and the resources you’ll need in place, to ensure everything runs like clockwork.

WE MAKE MOVING SIMPLE

Experience has shown us that a successful and stress-free move starts with planning and taking nothing for granted. For this reason, we have devised a moving process that ensures every aspect is covered.

1. PRE MOVE SURVEY

Our experienced Home Removals Surveyor will visit you to discuss your needs in detail. Friendly and helpful, they’ll review the contents of your home and will take detailed notes regarding the belongings to be moved, any furniture or items that require disassembly and reassembly, your timings and any particularly fragile or important items.

Should you need it, they’ll discuss storage options and also the disposal of any belongings you do not wish to move or store. The great thing is our Home Move Surveyors have done this hundreds of times before, so their advice is based on real moving experience.

Once they have fully understood your move, they’ll prepare a detailed Move Plan. This Plan covers every aspect of the move, including;

  • Organising your packing, unpacking and storage.
  • Removal dates and times.
  • Arranging parking permits for our trucks.

2. WRITTEN FIXED-PRICE – NO OBLIGATION – QUOTATION

For your peace of mind, your move coordinator will provide you with a written, no obligation quotation that will detail the service we’ll be providing you with including timings, your packing and unpacking service, special goods to be moved, dates and timings. You’ll also receive our terms and conditions which are approved by the British Association of Removers and ratified by the Trading Standards Institute.

3. THE DAY OF THE MOVE

On the day of the move, the Scott’s Removals team will arrive, fully-briefed and led by an experienced foreman who’ll be responsible for directing the move. Packing is handled swiftly but always carefully. Any items of furniture that need to be taken apart will be disassembled. Then, before leaving, we’ll carry out a final walk round with you to ensure that everything has been packed and loaded and you’re happy your move is going to plan.

4. MOVING ISN’T JUST PACKING; IT’S UNPACKING

Our Home Surveyor will have taken a note of those boxes that you’re going to need access to from the minute you arrive at your new home, and those that can be unpacked later. This means that you can find those essentials that you need, straightaway.

Depending on your budget, we can offer a complete range of unpacking services from simply placing your boxes in the correct rooms in your new home, to a full unpack and put away service making your new house feel like a home in no time at all. The important thing for you to know is that no two moves are the same and every move plan is designed around your specific needs and also your budget.

LIABILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE

At Scott’s Removals, we pride ourselves on our hard-earned reputation for professionalism. However,  no matter how carefully packed and handled, your possessions will always be at greater risk of loss and damage when being moved stored or shipped than when at rest in your home.  To deal with this, we offer entirely flexible liability arrangements. To save cost you can self-insure while we limit our liability, or we can provide insured, Full Value Protection, for any amount you require. Talk to our surveyor or our sales team. They will arrange matters as you wish.
